WHERE ANCIENT SOULS MEET WILD SHORES

From sacred temples glowing at dusk to misty hill country and golden coastlines, Sri Lanka packs centuries of history and untamed nature into one island. Walk through ancient kingdoms, chase waterfalls, and end your day watching the sun sink over the sea. This isn't just a trip — it's every version of paradise, in one place.

GO TO UNDERWATER

Swim beside gentle giants in the warm waters off Mirissa, or drift over coral gardens teeming with colour in Hikkaduwa and Pigeon Island. A whole other world waits beneath the waves.

Jaffna & the Peninsula

Sun-bleached and unmistakably Tamil in character — narrow lanes, palmyra palms, and the colour-drenched gopuram of Nallur Kandaswamy Temple rising over the town like a beacon.

The Quiet Coast

Where the water turns turquoise and stays calm most of the year. Koneswaram's clifftop Hindu temple watches over Trincomalee's natural harbour, while Passikudah and Arugam Bay further south draw divers, swimmers, and surfers chasing a different swell.

The Cultural Triangle

The island's ancient core. Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa were once royal capitals, their dagobas still standing after a thousand years; Sigiriya's Lion Rock rises straight out of the jungle; the cave temples of Dambulla hold ceilings painted floor to roof. Wilpattu, just to the west, adds leopards and sloth bears to the itinerary.

Hill Country

The temperature drops and the tea starts here. Kandy holds the Temple of the Tooth beside its lake; Nuwara Eliya feels like a misplaced English hill town among the tea estates; and the slow blue train winds down to Ella, past the Nine Arch Bridge, with Adam's Peak standing off to the west for anyone willing to climb it before sunrise.

The Coast & the Wild South

Negombo's fishing boats sit closest to the airport, then Colombo's skyline, then a long run of coastline through Hikkaduwa's reefs and Galle's Dutch fort down to the surf towns of Unawatuna, Mirissa, and Weligama, with whales offshore. Inland, Udawalawe and Yala hold the elephants, buffalo, and leopards.
